Since we are going to be together for a week, it would be nice if you could get to know each other a little bit before encampment. If you would like to post something about yourself, you can do so here. Put things like why you joined CAP, what you would like to do with your life, what your favorite things to do are, etc. The better you know each other before encampment, the sooner we will be able to bond together as a team.

Hey hows it goin. I'm C/SMSgt Ron Marciszyn "Marz". Joined CAP mainly for the aviation, military type atmosphere, and something to keep me busy. I'm all in all an aviation buff, and have been since the Blue Angels went over at 3 years old. Eventually want to become a pilot in the navy and fly off carriers. I'm looking foward to encampment and learning and having fun with you all.

haha sweet another c-130 lover!
My name is Ethan Dudden im going to be a staff sergeant this August, im going to join the Air National Guard while im in College im currently going to be a senior in H.S. this fall. After college i will have my commercial license for flying, possibly twin engine; after that i might go full time airforce or join the coast guard, as of now i cant fly for the military because of my vision impairment but that might change.

Since a few cadets have posted some information about themselves, I will do the same. I am C/2d Lt Zachary Myers and I will be your flight commander for the encampment. I joined CAP because I like the military atmosphere and enjoy emergency services and aerospace. I also like attending CAP activities (like encampment!. I especially like the leadership challenges presented by being on staff. My favorite sport is soccer and I play that in the fall and winter. I am home schooled and I will be a junior this fall. I look forward to seeing you all at encampment and am prepared for a great week.

Hey I'm CMSgt Thomas Richter. I am the CAC rep for my squadron, Oneonta. I joined CAP because I saw/see it as a way for me to get closer to my goal.... which is to fly for the Air Force or Navy. I plan to go to college and join either an Air Force or a Navy ROTC. Im really looking forward to encampment, I've heard a lot of good things about it, and some bad lol. I LOVE baseball. It's my passion. I'm also big on Ski racing, however this was my first year and i didn't do so hot. But i missed sectionals by only 1 place, gah that upset me. In the Fall I'm going to be a Senior. I'm looking forward to that. I plan to be on staff at this years CLS and, provided it fits into my schedule next summer, i hope to be on staff at next years NY encampment. I'm really big on electronics, i have my own repair business going. If you ever have any question feel free to ask. All my friends do lol.

The first day you arrive at encampment, you will go through in-processing, then bring all of your stuff into your cabin and get it set up. Then you will be with the rest of the in flights in Squadron 2 and you will probably be with the First Sergeant until the in-processing time is over. Then you will separate into your separate flights, in your case Golf Flight, and spend the rest of the day with your flight. Everyone will meet together at some point and you will hear from the Encampment Commander, Cadet Commander, and some other people. Mostly you will be learning what encampment is like and what you should expect. On the Febreeze note, I am bringing a bottle of it and it does really help. By the middle of the week, everyone wishes they had some. I will be leaving this afternoon so I won't be able to answer any further questions until you arrive at encampment. I look forward to seeing you all. It is going to be a great encampment.
